(Momohone, by Tomori Miyoshi and Tekkotsu Saro)

Apparently this is shoujo manga parody and not actually a 70s shoujo manga! Could’ve fooled me~

Thanks @MagicalEmi!

(Mikakunin de Shinkoukei / Engaged to the Unidenfied)
The detail on her lip shading is quite nice! /connoisseur

(Princess Nine)
It’s kind of nice that the slightly dated coloring and art style of the 16-year-old Princess Nine makes the 70s shoujo reaction face look slightly different from more contemporary parodies.
Thanks @NetbrianT!

Episode 6, I think.

Digging into my archives a little…
I’m fairly certain there was at least one other scene with the same style, not sure if I saved it anywhere. I’ll have to find it.

Kill la Kill episode 07

Because nothing screams 70s shoujo quite like a middle-aged dude using a bidet.

(Golden Time)

Episode 6.

Excellent and gorgeously rendered. Thanks to @MagicalEmi!

(Yakitate! Japan)

Volume 21, chapter 186

I recently obtained a set of this series and have been binge-rereading lately, and this long scene just further cements why Yakitate! is the greatest shounen sports manga ever. Referencing a Shueisha mag in a Shogakukan manga is also kind of amazing.

I guess it’s still rather difficult to 70s shoujo-ize a sunglasses-wearing afro dude though.

Still, excellent parody work, 11/10
